Why a Smart Garden?
With the pandemic, we have all picked up new hobbies to keep us busy and less bored. Some of us have attempted to garden and plant, but only faced failure and plant death. We thought it would be a great idea to build a smart garden that would water, light, and track growth itself. Additionally, we thought it would be a great project that combined each of our skillsets or pushed us out of our comfort zones.
Development

Original Prototype
Here are CAD engineering drawings for the Smart Garden. We initially made the design based on a shoe rack mechanism, but decided to change it to a staircase type model so the plants aren’t limited in growing. Also, we found a proper way to hide all the electrical components and water tank on the back side, making our final product look aesthetic, while maximizing functionality and durability.
